In spite of manufacturing KTM Duke 125 in India, it was not on sale in India for all these year. KTM manufactures the Duke and RC family motorcycles under 400 cc, at their plant in India. This includes the Duke 125, Duke 200, Duke 250, Duke 390, RC 125, RC 200, RC 250, RC 390. Except for the Duke 125, RC 125 and RC 250, all other bikes are on sale in India.
Earlier this week, KTM India added the Duke 125 to the list of motorcycles on sale in India. Priced from Rs 1.18 lakhs, ex-showroom, the new Duke 125 has been officially launched in India.
Test ride bikes have arrived at dealers across India. KTM has a wide dealer network of 450 outlets. It was at the company’s Mekhri Circle dealership in Bangalore that the first owner of Duke 125 took delivery. Powering the Duke 125 is a 125 cc engine which delivers 14.5 PS and 12 Nm via 6 speed MT. It weighs 148 kgs.
DeepuVlogs, also known as DV on Youtube, has claimed that he is the first owner of the Duke 125 in India. He has also posted a detailed video of him buying India’s first KTM Duke 125. You can watch the video below.
New KTM Duke 125 for India is not the same as sold in international markets. Just like the Duke 200, India gets the old generation model. New generation is only on offer with the Duke 390 in India. In other countries, entire Duke family has been upgraded to new generation.
This means the Duke 125 on sale in India gets graphics similar to D390, but styling of headlamp is of old D390. It also misses out on the futuristic bluetooth touchscreen digital instrument console; instead gets the orange backlit digital LCD from the old Duke’s.
