2019 Maruti Baleno facelift will also receive projector headlamps with daytime running lamps. Changes will also be seen at the rear with addition of chrome, while on the side, new alloys will be the highlight.

Interiors of Baleno facelift could also seen some changes in terms of safety features. It is already offered with dual airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts and ABS as standard. In addition, it will now get speed alert system, seat belt warning and parking sensor – which are seen on board the new Ciaz and Ertiga. Maruti Suzuki could also add rain sensing wipers, cruise control and auto headlamps so as to make the new Baleno equally competitive with its rivals.

Current Baleno

There will be no engine changes on the Baleno facelift. It will continue to be powered by a 1.2 liter petrol and 1.3 liter diesel engine as is seen on its current counterpart. The 1.2 liter petrol engine offers 84 PS power and 115 Nm torque while the 1.3 liter diesel is capable of 75 PS power and 190 Nm torque. Both engines get mated to a 5 speed manual, while petrol is also offered with CVT.

Like the current Baleno which is sold via NEXA outlets, the facelift will also be retailed via NEXA showrooms. Prices will be increased marginally as compared to the current Baleno, which is priced between Rs 5.38-8.49 lakhs. In terms of competition, the new Baleno facelift will compete with the Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and the soon to be launched Tata 45X hatchback.
