To continue its ongoing competition in the growing sedan segment and more particularly against the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, both of which have recently received updates, Maruti Suzuki India Limited have launched the new 2018 Ciaz at Rs 8.19 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Like its earlier counterpart, 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is also offered in four variants of Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. It gets exterior updates among which are exterior and interior cosmetic changes and a new 1.5 liter petrol engine mated to the company’s new mild hybrid system.
2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is seen with a new headlamp assembly, refreshed front grille and a new set of bumpers. It comes in with a new front end design with a more stooped stance, revised central airdam and new fog lamps. Metallic Glistening Gray and Metallic Silky Silver exterior color options are replaced by Metallic Magma Gray and Metallic Premium Silver.
Exteriors also come in with a list of accessories among which are multiple alloy wheel design options and rear windshield spoiler. Chrome door handles are offered only on the top spec variants while multi spoke alloy wheels, carried over from the outgoing model, continues to be a feature.
The interior styling kit includes a Birch Blonde finish, rear sunshades and rear seat entertainment with a DVD playback options. The new Ciaz comes in with some safety features as well such as cruise control, electronic stability program, hill hold assist, speed alert system and seat belt reminder.
Interiors are seen with two digital screens – one is on the dashboard, and the other is in the instrument control. The large 7” driver information screen offers the latest update giving it Android Auto connectivity besides Apple CarPlay and in-built navigation system.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz gets powered by a new 1.5 liter petrol engine offering 104 PS power and mated to Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid system. An automatic transmission option is also offered on the Ciaz petrol which is only offered on the Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants. ARAI pegs fuel efficiency of this petrol engine at 21.56 kmpl.
The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan also gets a 1.3 liter turbocharged DDiS diesel engine with SHVS offering 91 PS power and 200 Nm torque mated to a manual transmission only. Mileage is 27+ kmpl. New Maruti Ciaz prices detailed below.
