New Maruti DZire and Tata Safari after a high speed crash

Earlier today, the new generation Maruti DZire was involved in a high speed crash with a Tata Safari Storme SUV. The images show the badly mangled remains of the two cars. Luckily, no one was injured in this crash. The images were shared online by Drivespark reader Vineet Rathore.

Upon contacting the person who clicked these images, it was revealed that the crash took place when the Tata Safari Storme was trying to overtake Maruti DZire.

The Tata Safari car was at a high speed, and being driven a bit rashly as it was not following lane discipline. While overtaking the DZire, the driver of the Safari Storme lost control of the car, and hit the divider. Being at high speed, the Safari then turned sideways and went into the lane of DZire.

The driver of Maruti DZire tried to maneuver out of the way, but it was too late. The DZire’s right side collided with the side of the Tata Safari, while the remaining impact of was taken by the side structure of the DZire.

Built on a new generation platform, 2017 Maruti DZire is more stronger than ever before. Not only it meets Bharat NCAP crash test norms, its structural construction components consist of 66% high tensile steel, which makes the car’s cabin a safe place to be. This is one reason the cabin of new DZire has remained intact, in spite of a high speed crash against a car like Tata Safari Storme. In fact, it is the Tata Safari Storme which has suffered more damange in this accident.

To be launched later this month, with a petrol and diesel engine option, new DZire is being shipped to dealers across India as we speak. It will be offered with AMT as well as manual transmission options. Price is expected to be in the INR 5-8 lakh range.
