The new Dzire Tour has been launched in India ahead of the launch of new generation Dzire. Earlier it was reported that the DZire Tour, which is specially made for the taxi fleet segment, will be discontinued.
But, that is not the case. Sadly, it will not be based on the new generation platform, but will be based on the existing platform. The new Dzire Tour will be a sub 4 meter sedan which will be presented in a single variant. It will be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options.
Unlike the DZire sedan for private buyer segment, the DZire tour for the taxi segment will be lacking in features. For example, it will not get automatic climate control, parking sensors or touch screen infotainment features. However, keeping safety in mind, the 2017 Maruti Dzire Tour will be offered with dual front airbags, ABS and EBD.
Interiors of 2017 Maruti Dzire Tour retains its black and beige color scheme. In addition to this, it gets wood trim on dashboard and doors. The new Dzire Tour also does not get music system or tachometer but receives MID and power window controls. Exteriors do get some changes in the form of a black plastic grille and accents on bumper.
2017 Maruti Dzire Tour will be powered by a 1.2 liter K Series petrol engine offering 84 bhp power and 114 Nm torque and a 1.3 liter DDiS diesel engine producing 74 bhp power and 190 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. More details on price and other features will be revealed closer to launch date. Price of the petrol variant starts from INR 5.24 lakh, while that of the diesel variant starts from INR 5.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
