New Maruti Ertiga rendered as a Toyota – With a hint of Innova Crysta

Toyota and Maruti Suzuki announced a new partnership earlier this year. As per this, the two automakers will exchange technology and rebadging their respective vehicles and sell them at their own dealerships. This means, in the future we will see cars like Toyota Ertiga, Maruti Camry, Toyota Swift, and so on.

Now, with the new generation Maruti Ertiga close to launch, rendering artist has gone ahead and created what is known as Toyota Ertiga. Ofcourse, the Toyota version of Ertiga has a lot of hint of Innova Crysta. In fact, the Maruti version too has a lot of hint of the Crysta.

This badging engineering project between Toyota and Maruti Suzuki will include Maruti cars getting Toyota badging and vice versa. For starters, it will be the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Vitara Brezza what will sport Toyota badging while Maruti Suzuki badging will be seen on the Toyota Corolla Altis.

The Toyota Ertiga render above receives smoked headlamps, a new front bumper design and a three slat front grille. Rendering also suggests that Toyota will give the new Ertiga MPV a black treatment with A, B and C Pillars painted black along with roof, alloy wheels and ORVMs. It will also get distinctive wheel arches and black side cladding enhancing its sporty appeal.

In the meantime, Maruti Suzuki India Limited is gearing up for launch of the next generation Ertiga in India. The car has been frequently spotted on test ahead of launch.

It will be seen positioned on a lightweight HEARTECT platform and powered by a 1.5 liter K Series petrol engine and 1.3 liter Fiat sourced MultiJet diesel engine. The new Ertiga MPV will also be offered with LPG and CNG options while engines will get mated to 5 speed manual and 4 speed automatic.

At the same time, the old Ertiga which is currently sold in the market, will continue to be on sale as Ertiga Tour for the taxi and commercial segment.
