New Maruti Suzuki S Presso AMT fully revealed – Video walkaround

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched new S Presso mini SUV in India. Named after Espresso coffee, here is a walkaround video of AMT variant, thanks to YouTube channel Automobile Repair & Knowledge.

The S-Presso stands 3,565mm in length, 1,520mm in width and 1,564mm in height with a 2,380mm long wheelbase and total kerb weight of 726 kgs. This is lighter than Maruti Alto 800, which weighs 730 kgs. It sits on 14” steel wheels wight silver covers. Alloys are not on offer. Lower variants get 13 inch wheels.

Where its interior makeup is concerned, the new S-Presso will get center console which is inspired by BMW Mini cars. The circular shape of the center console is a direct copy from the MINI cars. Inside the circular console you will see a 7” floating type touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto. It will be powered by Suzuki’s SmartPlay system.

Being an entry level car, quality of materials is very flimsy. Steering wheel looks very basic. Top variants get steering mounted controls for controlling media on the touchsreen, accessing phone calls, etc.

In terms of safety, it will get the mandatory airbags, rear parking sensors, speed alert, ABS with EBD, and seat belt reminder feature. All variants will only get single driver side airbag, except for top variants which will get dual Airbags. Top variants will also get a rear camera.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be offered with a single petrol engine. This K10B 1.0 liter petrol engine will be BS VI compliant at the time of launch itself. It will be capable of 67 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm, mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The top three variants, VXi, VXi(O) and VXi+ will come with an AMT automatic gearbox. A CNG option could be introduced at a later stage.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, positioned between the Alto and Celerio in the company lineup, will go on sale via the company’s Arena dealerships. It will compete with the new Renault Kwid, which will launch just after S Presso on 1st October.
