New Maruti WagonR with accessories and chrome showcased – Video

Launched last week, 2019 Maruti WagonR is strikingly attractive, offers more space, comes with various upgrades and gets a new 1.2-litre petrol engine. Big new WagonR has been priced in the range of Rs 4.19 lakh to Rs 5.69 lakh, which is slightly more than the outgoing model.

In addition to the standard package, Maruti Suzuki is offering a wide variety of accessories for new WagonR. These accessories can be used to enhance the look and feel of the car, as per customer’s specific tastes and preferences.

Three different accessories kits are available for new WagonR, named as Playtime, Robust and Casa. Each of these utilizes a unique theme and covers both interiors and exteriors. These kits focus on enhancing the basic elements and do not have stuff like wraps and graphics that are offered with other Maruti cars such as Brezza, Ignis, etc.

A new video has been posted by an auto enthusiast, which showcases the various accessories available in Robust kit. For exteriors, the Robust kit has dual tone front extender and dual tone rear extender. These give the car a more prominent stance on the road. Other key accessories include wheel arch cladding, body side moulding, dual tone side extender, door visor, chrome number plate garnish, and rubber door guard.

For interiors, the styling kit shown in the video is Silver Prism. There are various other kits available at dealerships and customers are free to choose the one they like. Silver Prism kit gives a glossy finish to the interiors and it can be seen on inside door handles and lower section of the central console. Other key accessories for interiors include steel door sill guard with WagonR badging, premium steering wheel cover, victory lining finish seat covers, and pool side designer mat with WagonR logo.

New WagonR continues to use the earlier 998 cc engine for basic variants and gets a more powerful 1197 cc engine for top-spec variants. The 1-litre petrol engine delivers 67 PS @ 5500 rpm and 90 Nm @ 3500 rpm. The 1.2-litre unit makes 83 PS and 113 Nm. Both engines come with 5-speed manual or AGS unit. Both engines are BS IV compliant, which implies that an engine upgrade is imminent for WagonR before April 2020 when BS VI emission norms come into play. LPG and CNG variants are expected to be launched soon. An electric variant of WagonR is also likely, as it has been spotted on road tests.
