New Maruti WagonR launch is scheduled for January 23, 208, and this time there’ll also be an LPG variant, along with CNG. With production underway, cars are now being dispatched to dealerships time for prompt test drives and deliveries when the car launches in three weeks time.
In its newest form, Maruti Suzuki WagonR in Indian guise wears the tall boy look, albeit with a new exterior design. Cosmetic changes are just part of the parcel, as 2019 WagonR is now rife with feature changes. Maruti has shared the first official teaser of the new WagonR, with the tag – ‘Big New WagonR’.
Leaked images and specs confirm that new WagonR is bigger, and spacious too. Large headlamps with kinks on the outer end, noticeable foglight casing, and a rectangular grille with a chrome strip greet you upfront. Chrome bits are added to the light bazels, and there’s a new front bumper. Cosmetics have been reworked with a plastic insert on the C-pillar, and a flatter bonnet.
A simple rear bumper, vertical X-mas tree taillights, and licence plate placement with chrome insert makes up the tail-end. Interior space is complemented with a driver side airbag and rear parking sensors. Safety features are in tandem with mandated safety requirements. A dual-tone interior, beige and brown upholstery, and changed instrument cluster have been spied. The top-end variant features a SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, 12V phone charging socket, electric OVRMs, power windows, and a more loaded steering wheel.
2019 Maruti WagonR gets power from the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine mated to 5-speed manual transmission. AMT option will be available, and so will CNG and auto LPG. Mid and top end variant gets power from a 1.2 litre petrol engine as seen in new Swift. The 1 liter engine will deliver 67 PS @ 5500 rpmm and 90 Nm @ 3500 rpm while the 1.2 liter variant will deliver 83 PS @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4200 rpm. Both variants are offered with MT as well as AMT option. Both engines are BS4 compliant.
