Speaking about the dimensions of 2015 Mercedes Benz C Class, it is lighter by 100 kgs, longer by 95 mm (4686 mm), and wider by 40 mm (1810 mm). It also features a longer wheelbase of 2840 mm, which is 80 mm longer than the outgoing variant. Boot capacity is at 480 liters, this too is more than the previous model. The new C Class will make it’s global public debut at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show in January.

New Mercedes-Benz C-Class 0-100 km in 7.5 sec, Trailer and video (1)Three engine options are on offer, C220 BlueTEC with 2.2l diesel engine generating 170 hp power, 400 Nm torque and delivering a mileage of 25 kmpl, C180 with 1.6l turbocharged petrol delivering 156 hp power, 250 Nm torque and delivering mileage of 10 kmpl, and third, C200 with 2.0l petrol turbocharged delivering 184 hp power and 300 Nm torque with mileage of 18.86 kmpl.

Speaking about the price of new Mercedes Benz C Class, the C180 is priced at €33,558 ($46,216 or INR 28.62 lakh), C200 is priced at €36,414 ($50,152 or INR 31.06 lakh) and C220 BlueTEC is priced at €38,675 ($53,266 or INR 32.99 lakh). These prices are for Germany, where order books have already opened. In India, the new C Class is expected to arrive late 2014 or early 2015.

Soon after the market launch of these three engine options, Mercedes Benz will expand the engine line-up. The engines to be added to the 2015 C Class include 1.6l diesel supercharged in two tunes of 115 hp/280 Nm and 136 hp/320 Nm. Apart from this, there will be several tunes of the 2.2l diesel, ranging from 115 hp to 204 hp. For petrol lovers, there will be five options in the range of 156 hp to 238 hp. These will include the special C 180 ECO Edition model, which qualifies for efficiency class A as the BlueEFFICIENCY Edition. A six-cylinder petrol engine rated at 245 kW (333 hp) will follow in due course. A hybrid four cylinder with petrol and diesel will also be on the offer.
