2016 Mercedes CLA, the affordable premium model which made its debut back in March this year, was launched in India today.
Available in 3 trims, price of the new Mercedes Benz CLA starts from INR 31.40 lakh for the CLA 200d Style, INR 34.68 lakh for the CLA 200d Sport and INR 33.68 lakh for the CLA 200 Sport (petrol). All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai.
The 200 CDI variants are powered by 2.2-liter diesel engine generating 136 hp and 300 Nm, while the 200 petrol Sport is powered by a 2.0-liter petrol generating 184 hp and 300 Nm. The diesel variants does 0-100 kmph in 9 second and has a top speed of 220 kmph while the petrol variant does 0-100 kmph in 7.1 second and has a top speed of 240 kmph.
Considering that the design still feels youthful and fresh, Mercedes designers have opted only for subtle revisions. The car receives optional Multibeam LED headlights with new LED daytime running lights, reprofiled front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels and a set of tweaked LED rear combination lights.
Changes on the inside include enhanced material quality, new color themes, updated instrument console, revised seats, and a COMAND infotainment system with Apply CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Customers also have the option of upgrading the tablet-like standalone display to a bigger 8-inch unit.
Another interesting announcement made by Mercedes-Benz India at the launch today was that they will be launching one more car this year. This means, MB India will deliver more than what they promised at the start of this year. Instead of 12 cars, India will get 13 cars from MB this year.
Any guesses to which will be their 13th car launh? We would put our money on the new generation E Class.
