New Mercedes S Class Cabriolet has been teased once again and this time, the company has revealed a few details about the car. Following the tradition set by the model series 111 and 112 between 1961-71, the open top S Class is claimed to be the world’s most comfortable cabriolet.
The car features unique interior color themes composed of top notch leather, wood and metal accents and comes packed with Cabriolet-specific features. New S Class Cabriolet offers an enhanced automatic wind protection system called AIRCAP, neck level heating system called AIRSCARF, heated front and rear seats (including armrests), and an ‘intelligent’ automatic climate control system.
Further technical details will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month where the flagship Cabriolet is scheduled to make its first public appearance. We expect it to derive S Coupe’s powertrain lineup. The S 63 AMG variant will employ the 585 PS 5.5-litre V8 biturbo motor while the range-topping S 65 AMG will house a 6.0-litre V12 biturbo churning out 630 PS.
Deliveries in Europe are expected to commence towards the end of this year or early next year. Mercedes-Benz India is likely to launch the premium four-seat open top S-Class as a niche product sometime next year. The company has launched the S Coupe and S 63 AMG sedan in the country recently.
