JSW MG Motor India has officially teased the upcoming MG Majestor ahead of its India debut scheduled for February 12, 2026. Billed as India’s first D+ SUV, the Majestor is positioned to sit above the existing MG Gloster and will serve as the brand’s new flagship offering for the Indian market.
According to MG, the Majestor will be the longest, widest and tallest SUV in its class, effectively pushing beyond the conventional D-segment and creating a new D+ segment. With this positioning, MG aims to offer a more spacious, premium and capability-focused alternative to established full-size SUVs.
Teaser highlights bold, commanding design
The official teaser showcases the Majestor’s strong design language, underlined by what MG calls the Majestic Matrix Combination Grille. The front fascia features Falcon-type LED DRLs paired with split-style headlamps, giving the SUV a distinct and upright road presence.

The design direction clearly prioritises visual dominance, aligning with MG’s intent to position the Majestor as a step above the Gloster. MG states that the Majestor is engineered to deliver “unstoppable performance” across both urban roads and rugged terrain, hinting at a strong focus on touring comfort as well as off-road capability.
Positioned above Gloster, but not a replacement
As seen earlier at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, the MG Majestor can be described as a heavy evolution of the Gloster, though MG has clarified that Gloster will continue to be sold alongside Majestor. Both SUVs are expected to share the same ladder-frame chassis, but the Majestor is likely to be larger, more premium and more feature-rich, allowing MG to target higher trims of rivals more directly.

In terms of competition, the MG Majestor is expected to take on SUVs such as Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq, where buyers are increasingly looking for fresh alternatives in the Rs 45–50 lakh price bracket.
What we know so far
From its Auto Expo appearance, the Majestor showcased a rugged yet premium profile with a large grille, vertically stacked lighting elements, strong shoulder lines and large alloy wheels. The rear design featured connected LED tail lamps, a robust bumper and dual exhaust outlets, reinforcing its flagship positioning.
While interiors were not revealed earlier, the production-spec model is expected to offer a comprehensive feature set including large digital displays, premium upholstery, powered and ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, advanced connected tech and Level 2 ADAS.
Powertrain expectations
MG has not officially confirmed powertrain details yet, but the Majestor is likely to carry over engine options from the MG Gloster. These include:
– A 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 161 PS and 373 Nm with RWD
– A 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel producing 216 PS and 478 Nm with 4WD
Both engines are paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. There is also speculation that MG could introduce additional off-road-focused features to further differentiate the Majestor from rivals.
Looking ahead
With the official unveil locked in for February 12, 2026, the MG Majestor is shaping up to be a key product in MG’s India strategy. By creating a new D+ SUV category and positioning the Majestor as its flagship, JSW MG Motor India appears ready to challenge established players in the full-size SUV space with a blend of size, presence and premium appeal.
