While sporting a fresh new look, Nissan Gravite will have largely the same equipment list and parts as the Renault Triber

Building on the success of its Magnite SUV, Nissan is looking to further strengthen its presence in India with multiple new models. One of these will be an entry-level 7-seater MPV named Gravite. Prices for Gravite are scheduled to be announced in March 2026. Ahead of that, the Nissan Gravite has been spotted on road tests by automotive enthusiast Vivek R. Let’s check out the details.

Nissan Gravite – Design and features

It is likely that Nissan Gravite will be underpinned by the CMF-A+ architecture. Also in use with Renault Triber, the CMF-A+ is a flexible and affordable vehicle platform. It is developed jointly by Nissan and Renault. While sharing the same platform, Nissan Gravite will have a distinctive profile. The MPV will follow Nissan’s signature C-style design approach at the front and rear.

Key highlights of Nissan Gravite include top-mounted sleek LED DRLs and GRAVITE badging on the bonnet. There’s a robust grille design with polygonal elements and prominent C-shaped bumper in metallic finish. Sheet metal parts of Nissan Gravite are expected to be the same as those of the Triber. The bonnet design revealed in the teasers matches the one seen on the Triber.

Teasers have also revealed an exclusive Teal colour option for Gravite, which is not available with the Triber. More such exclusive colour options can be offered with the Gravite. Matching the rugged aesthetics seen across the front fascia, the side profile is expected to get thick body cladding, prominent door trims and sporty alloy wheels. At the rear, Nissan Gravite has sleek C-shaped tail lamps, sharp chrome accents, GRAVITE badging on the boot lid and eye-catching C-shaped bumper.

Equipment list, safety

Nissan Gravite will have distinctive interior styling, featuring new upholstery, themes and accents. The MPV could get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone replication with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, dedicated 2nd and 3rd row AC vents, wireless charging pad and a USB port.

Other likely features include engine start/stop, cooled lower glove box, 12-volt socket in 3rd row, rear defogger and cruise control. Safety kit for Gravite is expected to include features such as hill start assist, 6 airbags, electronic stability program, front and rear parking sensors, traction control system and tyre pressure monitoring system.

Nissan Gravite – Performance

It is expected that Nissan Gravite will be using the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, the one currently in use with Renault Triber. It generates 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque, and is offered with transmission choices of 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT (Easy-R AMT). The AMT option is only available with the Triber ’emotion’ top trim. Other trims – ‘authentic’, ‘evolution’ and ‘techno’ are offered with only a 5-speed manual transmission.

CNG option is also available for this engine at the dealer level. The retrofit is done by RTO-approved vendors. It is likely that Gravite too will get the CNG option. Nissan already offers CNG option with the Magnite SUV at the dealer level. CNG variant of the Gravite could be around Rs 70k-80k costlier than the respective petrol variant.
