Euro NCAP have released results of 15 cars all of which have been awarded 5 star ratings where safety features are concerned. However, Dacia Lodgy has received only three stars in standard Euro NCAP tests. The European Safety Organisation NCAP states the company ‘budgets of safety’. Others adjudged were FIAT 500L, Ford Kuga, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Outlander, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Opel Mokka, the Skoda Rapid, SEAT Toledo, SEAT Leon, new Range Rover, Subaru Forester, 7th gen Volkswagen Golf, and Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid. Each were awarded 5 stars.
According to Euro NCAP occupant safety is of prime importance and cost of the vehicle is not a criteria. In the Dacia Lodgy however, price of vehicle is low but a three star rating in their books is way below standard.
