New Range Rover Sport proves fastest in Empty Quarter Challenge

There was no reliable water sources in site while the continuously shifting sands offered the most complex challenges for driver and vehicle that one can ever imagine.


The team took the Range Rover Sport in a matter of 10 hours 22 minutes from Wadi Adda Wasir in Saudi Arabia to the border of United Arab Emirates covering a distance of 849 kms at a speed of 81.87 kmph.

The Range Rover is fitted with a 5.0 litre supercharged V8 petrol engine offering 510 PS power. It received standard tyres while the only modification to gear the vehicle for the test of speed was in the form of an underbody protection plate.
