New Renault Captur Crossover teased ahead of India launch on 22nd Sep

The Captur will be manufactured in India at the Renault Nissan plant in Chennai.

The India-spec Renault Captur compact crossover made its world premiere last year. Now, the car is ready for India launch, which will take place on 22nd Sep.

Renault Captur is a globally recognized car. It has recorded over 1 million sales world wide. The one on sale in Europe is smaller than the one which will be sold in India. India-spec Captur is same as that we have already seen on sale in Russia.

The styling of the Captur is such that it aims to attract a young generation of buyers. In the front you have bumpers with LED daytime running lights and a slightly larger grille. The Captur measures 4,333 mm in length (211 mm longer than the Europe-spec Captur), 1,813 mm in width (35 mm wider), 1,613 mm in height (47 mm taller) and has a wheelbase of 2,674 mm. Ground clearance stands at 204 mm.

The emerging market-spec Captur features a 7-inch Media-Nav infotainment system on the centre console and digital MID on instrument console, flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control. The crossover has an impressive boot capacity of 387 litres which can be expanded to up to 1,200 litres with the rear seats folded.

Powertrain details of the India-spec Renault Captur are expected to be same that we have already seen on the Duster SUV. This will be in the form of 1.5 liter diesel engine offered in two tunes of 85 PS and 110 PS.
