The new Skoda Kushaq facelift will receive significant updates among which will be Level 2 ADAS suite, a 360° surround view camera and a panoramic sunroof

After being teased and spied on test on a number of occasions in the recent past, official launch of the new Skoda Kushaq facelift could be held in January 2026. The SUV that falls within the 4.2 to 4.4m segment and currently competes with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Victoris and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, will see some innovative interior and exterior updates. It will however, continue to draw its power via the same engine lineup seen on its predecessor.

Skoda Kushaq Facelift – Exterior Updates

The new Skoda Kushaq facelift will come in with a slight design revision. Continuing with its bold and rugged exterior appeal, it will sport a new front grille, revised head and tail lamps and redesigned bumpers. It may also get connected tail lamps and new alloy wheels. A prominent update will be its panoramic sunroof. While all its competitors sport this feature, it was found to be sorely lacking as the current Kushaq only gets a single pane electric sunroof.

Features and technology may also be extended to a 360 degree camera, a revised infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and updated audio system and new driver display unit. As is currently seen on the present Kushaq, the facelift will also sport electrically adjustable and ventilated driver and co-passenger seats.

Another first on the Kushaq facelift will be Level 2 ADAS safety suite. This will make the facelift to be Skoda’s first mass market car in India to receive this feature. With the Skoda Kushaq having scored a 5-star safety rating from Global-NCAP, safety will also include a total of 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control and electric stability system besides hill hold assist and TPMS. Whether each of these features will be offered across all trims, or only restricted to top spec variants is something unknown as on date.

Skoda Kushaq Facelift Powertrain Options

The Skoda Kushaq facelift will continue to draw power via the same engines seen on its current counterpart. There is the 1.0 liter turbo petrol unit that offers 115 hp power and 178 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual or 6 speed AT. It also receives a larger 1.5 liter turbo petrol unit that makes 150 hp power and 250 Nm torque mated to a 7 speed DSG.

Though may not be at the time of launch, but later down the line, the company could also replace the 7 speed DSG with an 8 speed torque converter automatic transmission sourced from AISIN. This 8 speed automatic is expected to offer smoother shifts, improved fuel efficiency and enhanced driveability, allowing Skoda to comply with CAFE III norms.
