New Skoda Octavia TVC for India revisits Kishore Da’s Pag Ghunghroo

Coming in with a bolder design, better features and with a bigger stance, the new Octavia has unrivalled interior space and an elegant new design while it is packed with safety and infotainment features. A new advertisement portraying the new Octavia has been released. In the background you hear Kishore Kumar’s famous song, ‘ke pag ghunghroo bandh’ from the movie Namak Halal featuring Amitabh Bachchan. The ad draws attention to Octavia’s exterior, interior, boot, and other features.

In a class of its own and unrivalled in its segment, the new Octavia marks a major milestone for the company which launched its first Octavia in India in 2001. The new Octavia comes in with Skoda’s road side assistance, service and maintenance packages and extended warranty program, all of which endear the model to buyers in this segment. With one diesel and two petrol engine options, 2013 Octavia is the company’s first car in India to be built on the Volkswagen MQB platform. It is being offering in three trim levels – Elegance, Ambition and Active. Elegance receives 1.8 TSI petrol and 2.0 TDI diesel while Ambition and Active get a 1.4 TSI petrol and 2.0 TDI.

Top of the line 1.8 TSI petrol is mated to a seven speed automatic transmission offering 180 PS power and 250 Nm torque while 1.4 liter TSI petrol is mated to a six speed manual offering 140 PS and 250 Nm torque. The 2.0 TDI diesel engine is capable of 143 PS and 320 Nm torque and is mated to a six speed manual and six speed automatic transmission.
