2020 Skoda Super facelift is expected to be launched in the coming days, with only 2.0 liter petrol engine option
2020 Skoda Superb FL, showcased earlier this year at the Auto Expo has been open for bookings at a down payment of Rs.50,000 since a couple of weeks. Now, Youtube channel Power Stroke PS has managed to catch the facelifted Superb at a dealership, and published a walkaround video of the same, revealing interiors as well as exteriors.
Skoda Superb facelift will be offered in two variants of Sportline and Laurin & Klement. Each variant gets exclusive colour options with Sportline presented in Moon White, Race Blue and Steel Grey. The Laurin & Klement gets five colour options of Lava Blue, Magic Black, Magnetic Brown, Business Grey and Moon White.
Length of the sedan has also increased by 8mm to 4,869mm. The rear bumper is redesigned with the logo at the back now replaced with ‘SKODA’ lettering on the tailgate. Upgrades also include dual tone alloy wheels. On board features on the Superb, which is the company’s flagship model, is seen with a host of upgrades along with a new BS6 compliant engine. Below is the walkaround video of 2020 Skoda Facelift.
The list of upgraded features include a digital instrument display, revised upholstery, connected car technology, LED headlights and LES tail lamps, a larger double slat grille, revised bumpers at the front and rear. What is surprising is that even in the L&K trim, there is no virtual cockpit on offer.
All variants of the new Skoda Superb facelift will be powered by a 2.0 liter TSI petrol engine, which now complies with BS6 emission standards. The engine offers 190 PS power and 320 Nm torque and gets mated exclusively to a 7 speed DSG as the company withdraws the manual transmission and diesel engine.
The company could bring back a diesel engine at a later date, if there is a decent demand. The previous Superb received a 2.0 liter TDI turbocharged diesel engine along with a 1.8 liter TSI turbocharged petrol engine.
Official launch of the Skoda Superb Facelift is expected once the lockdown is lifted in the country. Where pricing is concerned, the Superb Facelift could be priced higher than its earlier counterpart which featured in the price range of Rs 26-30 lakhs. It will compete with the Toyota Camry Hybrid in its segment.
Along with opening bookings for the new Skoda Superb, the automaker has also announced bookings for the Karoq and Rapid TSI at Rs.50,000 and Rs.25,000 respectively. All these bookings can be done online via the company’s exclusively set up website giving buyers the full range of variants and colour options. The customer can also opt for getting their vehicle delivered at their doorstep from their preferred dealership.
