New Suzuki Gixxer 250 teased officially – Launch on 20th May

For many years now, Suzuki has been talking about launching a made in India higher capacity motorcycle, to sit above the current Gixxer series. The day seems to have finally arrived. Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially shaded a teaser of their upcoming motorcycle, which is believed to be Gixxer 250.

Suzuki has not named the motorcycle yet, but sources suggest that it will be named Gixxer. The teaser image reveals the side view of the upcoming 250cc Gixxer. And it is from this teased image, we can say that the motorcycle will be a fully faired machine, and not a naked sports bike.

2019 Suzuki Gixxer 250 is believed to be powered by a single cylinder 250 cc liquid cooled FI engine. Not much is known about the power and torque specs. Expect the engine to deliver power in the range of 22 PS, while torque delivery could be at 20 Nm. In the teaser image, Suzuki has claimed this – “Witness the dawn of greatness. Save the date for the most exciting launch of the year. Stay tuned for more details.”

Being a fully faired machine, we believe it will be more of a sports tourer; which could target buyers who are looking for reliable machines to take on any kind of terrains. Suspension in the front will be telescopic forks, while at the rear it will get monoshock setup. Other features on offer will be alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, LED headlight, LED DRL, LED turn indicators, LED tail lights, ABS, etc.

To keep up with the modern times, upcoming Suzuki Gixxer 250 could get the next generation of instrument cluster, which will allow owners to pair their smartphones with the motorcycle. This will then relay information like incoming calls, messages, turn by turn navigation, etc.

2019 Suzuki Gixxer 250 will take on the likes of Yamaha Fazer 25. It will be the flagship made in India motorcycle from the Japanese bike brand, and will sit above the Gixxer SF. Expect price to be in the Rs 1.5 lakh range, ex-sh. More details will be revealed closer to launch.
