Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. has launched the new Gixxer 155 in India. It is priced at Rs.1,00,212, ex-sh. This means that it is priced Rs.12,000 more than its outgoing counterpart. For the extra price, you get a more premium stance with better aesthetics.
Suzuki has also introduced a range of 7 accessories for the new Gixxer. These are optional attachments which will be fitted at company dealerships. No prices of these accessories have been announced as on date and could be revealed shortly.
The list of accessories extends from tank protector and graphics to seat and knuckle covers, skid plate bumper bracket and DC socket. The tank protector prevents scratches on the motorcycle while the graphics also helps to save some scratches that appear through the belt knuckle. DC socket is ideally suited for charging and use of mobile devices especially on long distance travel.
Seat covers prevent the original factory fitted seat from wear and tear and is particularly useful for those owners who have to park their vehicles at public places for an extended period of time. It is for added protection that the company is also offering knuckle covers as an accessory for the Suzuki Gixxer. It will protect the hand and levers during crash.
During the winter season, these covers protect the rider’s hands from the cold blast by maintaining temperatures at comfortable levels. Skid plate is fitted to the underside of the engine for prevention from any sort of damage in the event of contact to the ground while the bumper bracket is also offered with an accessory of a crash guard that takes on the impact in case the motorcycles falls on its side.
Suzuki Gixxer 155 comes in with a single cylinder, air cooled engine offering 14 hp power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm mated to a 5 speed transmission. It gets an advanced fuel injection system with inputs sourced from 6 sensors and a suspension system that includes 41mm telescopic front forks and swing arm mono suspension at the rear. Braking is via disc brakes on both wheels with single channel ABS. The bike rides on 17” alloy wheels fitted with 100/80R-17M/C front and 140/60R-17M/C rear radial tubeless tyres.
Suzuki Gixxer 155 enters a segment currently commanded by the likes of Yamaha FZ V3.0, Bajaj Pulsar 160NS, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Honda CB Hornet 160R.
