New Suzuki GSX 1000 price cut by Rs 2.2 lakhs in India

The new Suzuki GSX-R1000R, which was earlier priced at INR 22 lakhs is now on offer at a reduced price of INR 19.80 lakhs. The company has made this liter class bike cheaper by INR 2.2 lakhs following a reduction in Excise Duty from 75% to 50% on Completely Built Up (CBU) bikes. Apart from Suzuki, Indian Motorcycle and Ducati have also brought down prices of their CBU models accordingly.

Suzuki GSX-R1000R is powered by a 999.8cc, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine offering 202 hp power at 13,200 rpm and 117.6 Nm torque at 10,800 rpm mated to a 6 speed transmission system.

It gets a launch control system for better rider safety and traction control system that prevents loss of grip. Braking is via 310mm dual disc brakes at the front and single 220mm disc at the rear. It gets 43mm Showa balance free forks in the front and at the rear.

Its dimensions are at 2,075mm length, 705mm width and 1,145mm height. It has kerb weight of 203 kgs and a fuel tank of 16 liter capacity offering mileage to the extent of 13 kmpl.

Suzuki GSX – R1000R is offered in Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black and rivals products from Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki in its category.
