New Tata Harrier all Black Dark Edition launch price Rs 16.76 L

In a bid to stay in the frontline in a highly competitive environment, Tata has been dishing out well timed updates to the Harrier. The Land Rover based SUV, which has started facing pressure from the attractively priced MG Hector; recently received sun-roof and dual-tone theme in the form of accessories.

Now that the Kia Seltos is also launched, Tata Motors would be attempting to steal a part of the rival’s limelight by introducing an all-black edition of the Harrier. The Tata Harrier black edition will launch sometime next month.

Tata Motors has launched a new edition of the Harrier, just ahead of the festive season start. It is called the Harrier Dark Edition. This new edition has been priced at a similar price as that of the top of the line XZ Dual Tone. Price starts from Rs 16.76 lakhs, ex-sh, Delhi.

Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Head Marketing, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “In line with our endeavour to take the style quotient of the Harrier even higher, we wanted to offer a product that would make heads turn. The colour Black has always been desired amongst car buyers across the SUV segment.

To meet these aspirations and to mark the onset of the festive season, we have launched the Harrier #Dark Edition today in a completely new avatar with a compelling package of striking exteriors and inviting interiors with 14 design enhancements. We are confident our customers will appreciate the Harrier in this look as much as they have appreciated the Harrier since its launch.”

Tata Harrier Dark Edition is seen with exteriors sporting a glossy black colour scheme. The new shade extends to its 17” wheels which get blacked out along with skid plates at the front and rear and blacked out rear bumpers. The only contrasting elements are the chrome window sills and badging at the front and rear. Apart from the new black colour scheme, the Tata Harrier continues to be offered in exterior colours of Calisto Copper, Thermisto Gold, Ariel Silver, Telesto Grey, Orcus White and the dual tone option

The interiors, which are done up in a brown colour scheme in current variants; get black leather upholstery in the Dark Edition. While the faux wood finish seen on the dash board is now in a textured matte grey colour scheme. The rest of the interiors in terms of design elements, infotainment and features continue unchanged.

Apart from the new colour scheme, the Tata Harrier will remain mechanically identical. It will continue to be powered by the 2.0 liter Kryotec engine, which as on date offers 140 PS power and 350 Nm torque. However, in its updated BS VI format, it will see a boost in performance to 170 PS power and 350 Nm torque. BS6 Harrier will launch next year.

The Tata Harrier is priced between Rs.13-16.76 lakhs and rivals the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. In July 2019, Harrier posted its lowest monthly sales since launch in Jan 2019. With the launch of Dark Edition Harrier, Tata aims to boost sales.
