Tata Hexa SUV has entered production at the company plant in Pune. With bookings already open, the car is set to be launched on the 18th of January 2017. Ahead of that, the company has released the first TVC of the production ready Hexa, which can be watched in the feed below.
Built on a hydroformed ladder-frame chassis, the Hexa is powered by the 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 diesel engine which is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox to produce 154 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. The SUV will be offered in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations. Tata will also introduce a 6-speed AT variant along with MT variant.
Though the car has entered production, Tata Motors continues to test the Hexa on public roads, as well as on their test track inside Pune plant. During one such outing, a top-end Hexa 4×4 variant was seen doing a stunt which saw the car being raised with the help of a ramp, and then being driven on just two wheels around the track. Watch the video below –
Seen above is the fully loaded variant which is equipped with foglights, projector headlamps, LED DRL strips, alloy wheels, roofrails, airbags, ABS with EDB, Harman touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, powered ORVMs and so on.
The Tata Hexa will be looking to pick up a fight with the Mahindra XUV500 and lower variants of the Toyota Innova Crysta upon launch. For more details, you can read our Tata Hexa Review here.
