Tata Motors has officially launched the new Punch facelift in India, giving its popular sub-compact SUV a comprehensive update for 2026. One of Tata’s strongest volume drivers, the Punch receives its first-ever facelift with refreshed styling, an expanded powertrain lineup and a significantly upgraded feature list, positioning it as one of the most feature-rich offerings in its segment.
Pricing and Variants
Tata Motors has announced introductory ex-showroom prices for the new Punch facelift, positioning it competitively in the sub-compact SUV segment. Prices for the petrol manual range start at Rs 5.59 lakh for the Smart variant and go up to Rs 8.99 lakh for the top-end Accomplished+ S. The CNG variants are priced from Rs 6.69 lakh for Smart CNG, extending up to Rs 9.29 lakh for the Accomplished trim.

Tata has also introduced the i-Turbo petrol engine with prices starting at Rs 8.29 lakh, available on the Adventure and Accomplished+ S personas. AMT gearbox options are offered on Pure+, Adventure and Accomplished variants, while sunroof-equipped versions are available on Pure+ and Adventure trims. All prices are introductory and ex-showroom Delhi.
New Design
Visually, the Punch facelift adopts several design cues from Punch EV. The front now features sleeker LED headlights, a closed-off upper grille and a redesigned bumper with prominent skid-plate styling. At the rear, select variants get new LED tail lamps with an Infinity Glow connected light bar, enhancing the SUV’s road presence. Revised alloy wheel designs and subtle detailing updates complete the exterior refresh, while the overall boxy and rugged stance remains unchanged.

Interior & Features
The interior sees one of the biggest upgrades. Tata has equipped the Punch facelift with a much more premium cabin layout, highlighted by a large Ultra View 26.03 cm touchscreen infotainment system and a 17.78 cm digital instrument cluster on higher variants. Other notable features include a 360-degree HD surround-view camera, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lamps with cornering function and a new smart digital steering wheel. Comfort and convenience are further enhanced with a CentralLux console with armrest, rear seat armrest, Xpress Cool air-conditioning, adjustable front headrests and a premium audio system with 4 speakers and 4 tweeters.
In addition, Tata has introduced features that are rare in this segment, such as paddle shifters (with AMT), drive modes (City and Eco), idle start-stop technology and Powersight LED headlamps. The Punch facelift also continues Tata’s strong safety focus, offering six airbags and ESP as standard across the range.
Powertrain & Performance
Powertrain options have been expanded to suit a wider audience. The new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 120 PS and 170 Nm and comes paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine continues with 5-speed manual and AMT options, generating 87.8 PS and 115 Nm. Tata is also offering a factory-fitted CNG variant, producing 73.4 PS and 103 Nm, with both manual and AMT gearbox options, making it one of the few CNG SUVs in the segment to offer an automatic transmission.

The Punch facelift is available in six trims – Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+ S. Colour options include Cyantafic Blue, Caramel Yellow, Bengal Rouge, Daytona Grey, Coorg Clouds Silver and Pristine White. With its combination of turbo power, CNG option, segment-first features and improved safety, the new Tata Punch facelift is expected to further strengthen Tata Motors’ position in the sub-4m SUV space. Media drives are expected to begin shortly, with deliveries likely to follow in the coming weeks.

New Tata Punch Smart (Base Variant)
The Smart variant forms the entry point to the new Tata Punch range but still comes well equipped for its segment. Standard safety includes 6 airbags, ESP, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Key features include Powersight LED headlamps, LED DRLs, a digital instrument cluster, drive modes (City and Eco), idle start-stop, remote keyless entry, central locking and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The Smart trim also gets a corporate steering wheel, front power windows and front adjustable headrests, making it a strong base offering despite its entry-level positioning.
New Tata Punch Pure
Stepping up to the Pure variant brings meaningful comfort and convenience upgrades over Smart. It adds rear AC vents, a central armrest with storage, steering-mounted audio controls, rear defogger, and a 4-speaker audio system. The Pure trim also features electrically adjustable ORVMs, smart digital steering wheel, and a fast USB Type-C front charger, improving everyday usability and rear passenger comfort significantly.
New Tata Punch Pure+
The Pure+ variant focuses on infotainment and tech enhancements. It gets Tata’s Ultra View 26.03 cm touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse parking camera, cruise control, and a height-adjustable driver seat. Additional features include 15-inch steel wheels with covers, front and rear USB Type-C chargers, and improved cabin convenience, making it a strong value-for-money option in the lineup.
New Tata Punch Adventure
With the Adventure trim, the Punch begins to feel more premium and feature-rich. This variant adds a 360-degree HD surround view camera, blind view monitor, push-button start with keyless entry, automatic climate control, rear wiper and washer, air purifier, rain-sensing wipers and auto headlamps. It also gets a sportier steering wheel design and improved visibility aids, positioning it as a well-rounded urban SUV choice.
New Tata Punch Adventure+
Adventure+ builds further on the Adventure trim by adding a voice-assisted electric sunroof and roof rails. This variant targets buyers who want the rugged Adventure persona but also desire lifestyle-oriented features. The addition of the sunroof significantly boosts the Punch’s appeal, especially among younger buyers and families looking for premium features without moving to the top-end variants.
New Tata Punch Accomplished
The Accomplished variant introduces a noticeable step-up in design and interior sophistication. It features 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, Infinity Glow connected LED tail lamps, LED DRLs, extended thigh support seats, ambient lighting, cooled glovebox, and a digital TFT instrument cluster. The Ultra View touchscreen continues here, paired with improved cabin materials and visual upgrades that enhance the overall premium feel.
New Tata Punch Accomplished+ S (Top Variant)
Sitting at the top of the range, the Accomplished+ S variant comes fully loaded with all available features. Highlights include a larger 17.78 cm digital instrument cluster, voice-assisted electric sunroof, wireless smartphone charger, auto-dimming IRVM, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, rear seat armrest, paddle shifters (with AMT), and touch up/down driver window. With this trim, Tata positions the Punch as one of the most feature-packed sub-compact SUVs in the segment.
