Tata Motors has found immense success with Tiago when it was launched in the country. Now that India is moving towards vehicles marketed as an SUV, hatchbacks have taken a back seat. However, Tata Motors trusts the Tiago formula and launched an update to both ICE and EV versions last year.

Now that the calendar year 2026 has arrived, Tata Motors seems to be giving another update to Tiago. A camouflaged test mule of the same has been spied testing for the first time. At first glance, there doesn’t seem to be any change, but could be under the skin. Let’s check out the possibilities.

Tata Tiago EV Update Spied

The first-ever spy shots of 2026 Tata Tiago EV update have surfaced on the internet. It is currently Tata’s most affordable EV on sale which continues to hold value and the efforts seem to be worth it to consider updating it. After a rather sizable update offered with Tiago and Tiago EV in 2025, we might get more features and equipment.

Where design changes are concerned, there doesn’t seem to be a lot or any, as suggested by these new spy shots. We could see a similar appearance with its sheet metal, suggesting that changes could be concentrated only with fiber parts and lighting elements.

Speaking of, there could be new headlights and tail lights or at least the lighting elements inside the housings could be revised. We can see new wheel covers or these could be alloys, for a change. New colours could be in the equation as well and more details about the changes could surface with future spy shots.

A major overhaul might be introduced with 2026 Tiago EV. One could expect the 7-inch TFT instrument cluster an auto-dimming IRVM, a new Centre console with a centre armrest along with integrated rear AC vents, new touch and toggle climate control console, a wireless charging pad and other elements seen with the new Punch facelift.

Powertrains and Launch Details

Currently, Tiago EV is equipped with either a 19.2 kWh or a 24 kWh battery pack promising 257 km and 315 km range respectively. With 2026 Tiago EV, we wish Tata could consider bringing the larger 35 kWh battery pack and offer over 450 km range, like with Punch EV, while keeping performance the same as current Tiago EV,  up to 74 bhp and 114 Nm.
