New Toyota Fortuner, Innova Crysta launch – Price increased upto Rs 32k

As the new FY 2019 gets underway, Toyota Innova Crysta and Fortuner will now be available with new interior updates. This comes with a price increase. Updated Innova Crysta price increase ranges from from Rs 10,000 to Rs 24,000; Innova Touring Sport in the range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 23,000; and Fortuner price increase in the range of Rs 25,000 to Rs 32,000. (increase on ex-showroom prices).

2019 Toyota Innova Crysta gets the option of perforated ivory leather upholstery, Crysta insignia, heat rejection glass, and a USB fast charging port for its diesel top-spec ZX and ZX variants.

Toyota Innova Crysta AT variants get ivory leather upholstery. Crysta Touring Sport diesel variants get heat rejection glass and a USB fast charging port option. Until now, the top trims were available in Hazel Brown upholstery. Ivory upholstery option gives customers a choice of any of the two colours.

2019 Toyota Fortuner gets a Chamois colour option for perforated leather seats and heat rejection glass for diesel variants. Changes for the 2019 Toyota Innova Crysta and Fortuner remain limited to interiors and features and do not alter mechanics in any way.

Innova Crysta and Fortuner are the best selling Toyota cars in India. They are also two of the most profitable cars on sale in the country. Last fiscal, Toyota sold more than 1.5 lakh units of these two cars in India alone.

Toyota Innova has been a consistent and strong performer in the MPV segment in the country. Its sales has helped to contribute over $2.4 billion to the company’s turnover. The Innova MPV is clocking monthly sales to the extent of 6,000-8,000 units, which is higher than sales of any other Toyota offering in the country.

47% of Innova buyers are existing owners, who sold off their older variant for the new updated version. The new Fortuner has also seen impressive demand. For a car in the Rs 35 lakh segment, it manages to sell 1,500 to 2,000 units every month.

N Raja, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota India said, “In line with the feedback from customers we are happy to incorporate our customer preferences in select grades of the Innova Crysta and the Fortuner in terms of interiors and comfort. With changing lifestyles, people are spending more family time on road trips during weekends and thus car interiors and comfort features are emerging to be important parameters among car buyers.”
