Triumph unveiled their new Street Triple range in the UK earlier this year. Among each of these models, the Triple S is a base model, R is a sportier while RS is the top of the line sports bike. Of the three, the the S variant was launched in India back in June while the RS variant was launched today. Speed Triple S is available at Rs 8.5 lakh while the RS is available at Rs 10.55 lakh, ex-showroom.
Each of the three new Triumph Street Triple bikes get fitted with a new 765cc triple cylinder engine in varying states of tune. The engine on the S variant offers 113 hp peak power and 53 lb/ft torque, going upto 118 hp and 56 lb/ft torque on the R and to top off at 123 hp and 56 lb/ft torque on board the range topping RS.
All new Triple’s also get ABS as standard which is adjustable as per riders demands on the R and RS. The 2017 Triumph Street S and R models sit on Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres while the RS gets Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SPs.
2017 Triumph Street Triple S receives 41mm upside down forks in the front and Showa reservoir mono shocks at the rear with adjustable preload. Braking power comes from twin 310mm floating discs with Nissin 2 piston calipers in the front and single 220mm discs at the rear with mono piston Brembo calipers.
Triumph Street Triple R gets 41mm upside down forks in the front and Showa reservoir mono shocks with adjustable spring preload at the rear. Its braking power comes from 310mm twin discs in front and Brembo M4 32 four piston monoblock calipers along with single 220mm mono Brembo caliper.
On board features include a new 5” TFT display and DRL headlights along with self cancelling indicators, fly screen and integrated air intakes. It is offered in four riding modes of Sport, Road, Rain and Rider.
Where color options are concerned, the Street Triple S will be presented in Diablo Red or Phantom Black (Metallic). Street Triple R gets colors of Jet Black (Gloss), Matt Aluminum Silver or Crystal White while Street Triple RS is being offered in Matt Silver Ice or Phantom Black (Metallic).
