Showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo, TVS Graphite concept is heading into production. Two test mules of the production variant of this 125 cc scooter were spied on test by YouTuber Irfan Ahmed Vlogs (whose video has now been taken down after TVS Motor Company filed a copyright claim).
But the images are still available. Irfan managed to spot the test mule while it was parked outside a TVS dealership. On inquiring with the TVS officials there, it was revealed that this was a 125 cc scooter. It will be the most feature-rich and 125cc scooter once launched. Power output figure stands at 11.5 hp.
It will have a fully digital instrument console with GPS, LED turn indicators, fuel tank lid at the rear, petal disc brakes, telescopic front forks, 12 inch alloys, throaty exhaust note (unlike any other scooter we have seen), comfortable seating, grab rails for pillion, etc.
TVS Graphite 125 scooter will feature exceptionally good looks and loaded with features. The new Graphite 125 could receive same features as we had seen on the concept. Not only the TVS dealer revealed interesting details, he was also kind enough to start the bike and let Irfan record the throaty exhaust note.
TVS Graphite 125 feature a four valve SOHC engine with fuel injection. It will have a CVT transmission and comes with engine kill switch. Four colour options will be on offer – Matte Black, Matte Yellow, Matte Orange, and Matte Green. One of our readers, who has already managed to ride the scooter, says that the ride and feel is completely fabulous and the scooter looks even better than Honda Grazia.
TVS Graphite 125 is built on a new platform. The concept was inspired from the stealth military aircraft’s engineering. It gets an under bone frame with high tensile steel resulting in better stability. Suspension includes 30mm telescopic suspension setup at the front and gas charged damper at the rear and disc and drum brakes are seen at the front and rear respectively. Smart lines, split grab rail, floor-board mounted fuel tank cap and a sleek headlamp are also among some of the features noted on the model on test.
The instrument console is fully digital and supports vehicle data and connectivity (very much like the new KTM Duke 390). Its headlamp unit is of a winking style adding to its good looks. Price will be in the range of Rs 71,000 to Rs 74,000.
More details will be revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo, when the scooter makes global debut. Along with Grapite 125, TVS will also be showcasing a couple of more products at the show.
