New Volkswagen Polo based crossover aimed at sub Tiguan segment?

According to a UK publishing house, Volkswagen has plans to launch a smaller crossover to cater to a larger audience than its current SUVs do. We are not talking about the Volkswagen Up based Taigun which is a Ford EcoSport rival, this is a Polo based B-segment urban SUV. The word has come directly from a board member for technical development at VW, Heinz-Jakob Neuser.

The next generation Volkswagen Polo based crossover would be underpinned by the versatile MQB platform.
According to Neuser, the company is looking to slot at least one crossover in every segment. Michael Horn, President and CEO of VW Group of America, has also hinted about such crossover models being in the pipeline when he said there is room for much more derivatives based on high-riding models.

Said new VW crossover would probably spawn Skoda and Seat sister models as well.
There are chances for the upcoming Polo based crossover to draw styling inspiration from Volkswagen T-ROC three-door concept, which had its global premiere at 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The crossover would most likely have 5-door configuration and would look more serene than the T-ROC.
