New Yamaha R15 V3 aftermarket bolt-on kit for Dark Knight mode

New Yamaha R15 V3, carrying a price tag of Rs.1.39 lakhs in India, gets a bolt on customization kit that takes styling to a new level. This bolt on kit is thanks to Indonesia based custom builder Radhit Modifikasi. The accompanying photos give details of this makeover.

In this kit, the Yamaha R15 V3 gets a set of LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs. Fairing design has also been modified to ape that seen on the flagship R1. Front blinkers have been removed, a pair of rear view mirrors now sport integrated turn indicators while the fuel tank also sports a new and more muscular stance.

Changes made to the rear take Yamaha R15 V3 are such that the motorcycle look more like the R1. It gets new integrated blinkers into the panel while rear fender and number plate mounts have been removed. The conversion kit also includes a MotoGP styled exhaust. Overall, after the bolt on kit is fitted, the R15 more or less looks like a machine for Batman.

Apart from these changes, the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 continues to sport the same features as seen on the stock bike. There are no engine upgrades. This means that the Yamaha R15 V3 gets the same suspension in the front and rear. India-spec R15 does not get upside down forks. To get the Dark Knight mode, interested owners of R15 can connect with the modifier at @rony_gun on instagram.

Speaking about the stock R15, the engine includes a 155cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled motor offering 19.3 PS power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm torque at 8,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox. The engine gets Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology and assist and slipper clutch.

In India, the YZF-R15 V3.0 has been fitted with dual channel ABS as a standard feature. Thanks to this, prices have been hiked by Rs.12,000. This takes its price tag up to Rs.1.39 lakhs while the company has also made available a new Darknight color scheme at Rs 1.41 lakhs. The non-ABS variant of the YZF-R15 V3.0 is also on sale at company dealerships till stocks last but will move off the racks after the April 2019 deadline.
