In all surprise, all-new Jaguar XF seems to be spotted in Bangalore, with complete camouflage. What was the test mule doing there? Or is it clever photoshop work? Why is it being tested on Indian soil with a UK numberplate or why Zauba has no record of this import? These questions put the authenticity of this image in doubt.
Unveiled at 2015 New York Auto Show, 2016 Jaguar XF receives a bundle of upgrades, that involves everything from underpinnings to cosmetics, interiors, features and powertrain.
Next gen Jaguar XF will be based on all-new iQ Al platform made of 75 percent Aluminium. Courtesy of which almost 190 kg is said to be shed, compared to the kerb weight of outgoing model. Inspite of which, the car is claimed to be around 30 percent stiffer. Plus, the new platform is said to have helped achieve 50:50 weight distribution (fore-aft bias).
Exteriors of upcoming avatar of XF will be characterised by longer hood with larger power bulge, bigger grille and air-dams, longer side profile, larger alloy wheels and new detailing all around.
Interiors will be as comprehensively updated as the exteriors, enlarging the centre console for starters. New 10.2 inch dual-view touchscreen infotainment system labelled InControl Touch Pro, is among the new features in the next-gen XJ.
Powertrain options of next-gen Jaguar XF is not confirmed yet, expect 2.0 litre 4-cylinder Ingenium and 3.0 litre V6 engines to be employed.
