Testing of Next Gen Kia Seltos has commenced both in South Korea and India, with expectations of launch by the end of 2025
Seltos has been a staple compact SUV in Indian market and is also a global offering, sold in markets like USA and Europe. The company has commenced testing of Next gen Seltos with a completely new design language. One that is inspired by the flagship Telluride SUV to lend a strong and muscular appearance to this compact SUV.
Next Gen Kia Seltos Rendered
The set of test mules was spotted on home turf, South Korea. Soon after, there were test mule sightings in India as well, suggesting that we might get the Next Gen Seltos alongside global model or soon after. Regardless, there is a lot of hype and excitement building around this upcoming SUV.
Rendering artist NYMammoth has penned down his version of Next Gen Seltos. As seen in the video, NYMammoth executes his render in multiple shades and contrasting elements to establish vastly unique looks. Some of these contrasting elements include Orange painted skid plate, Orange window line and Red painted brake callipers.
Playful, would be the right word to use when looking through these renders, signifying how little elements affect the grand scheme. Primary design elements, however, are rendered keeping in mind the attributes seen on test mules, but inspired by Telluride’s appearance.
For starters, we can see the new fascia with a flat and muscular approach. There’s a high-set and flat bonnet too, which adds to the overall muscle. Tiger Nose grill is slightly boxy and much more accentuated this time around. Horn-like elements in lower bumper have always been Kia’s thing and we can see them in this render as well.
Telluride Inspired Design
Headlights are now squarish, with a similar design direction to the one seen on Telluride. LED DRLs are vertically arranged on this render, lending it a new-age face. At the sides, we can see conventional door handles and round body claddings which we hope are painted, this time around. Roof rails make it look taller than it is.
There’s a wrap-around effect for front windshield and the window line has a kink that rises from C Pillar and joins the roof line. Wheels seen on this render are of geometric design. Rear design of the new Seltos is also very interesting as it gets vertically oriented LED tail light signature that could be connected in the middle. Think Mahindra XUV3XO’s tail light design.
On the inside, we can expect a similar design approach as just-debuted Kia Syros SUV for India. Powertrains-wise, we can expect Next Gen Kia Seltos to carry over the same 1.5L NA Petrol, 1.5L Turbo Petrol and 1.5L Turbo Diesel engines for India, as before. Global markets might get a new Hybrid engine with e-AWD setup as well.
