The design study appears to be pretty close to the production-ready version.

The next gen Subaru Impreza hatchback has been previewed as near production concept at the ongoing 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. If the public opinion comes out to be generally positive, we won’t be seeing much changes in the production version which is likely to be ready sometime next year.

The design study has familiar Subaru front fascia with an instantly recognizable grille (albeit with a chrome insert), a sophisticated LED headlamps, blue tinted LED foglights and a sharp bumper. The profile is full of sharp creases and character lines which could be watered down in the production version.

The concept measures 4,400 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, 1,440 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,670 mm.

The dual-tone wheels, a sleek daylight opening and a mildly tapering roofline add to the Impreza hatchback concept’s sporty character.┬áThe rear fascia is full of accentuated surfaces. The C-shaped LED combination lights stand out. Interior design has not been unveiled.

Subaru has not revealed any further details of its upcoming drivers’ car. We expect it to be lighter and better equipped that is predecessor. A more powerful boxer engine with improved output and efficiency, better handling chassis and additional equipment go without saying.

Subaru has also showcased VIZIV Future concept which previews as stylish compact crossover based on the company’s new global platform.
