The MPV would be launched in India sometime next year.

A leaked brochure of the next gen Toyota Innova has shed light on the family MPV’s exterior and interior design in addition to salient features and specifications. The people carrier is expected to make its world premiere on November 23.

The MPV for the Indonesian market will be available in both petrol and diesel versions across three trim levels namely G, V and Q. The diesel engine of choice would be the new downsized 2.4-litre GD motor which is capable of a 149 PS and a healthy torque output of 360 Nm for AT and 342 Nm for MT. The engine is expected to be mated either to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The MPV adopts a bold design language with a massive hexagonal grille, swept black headlamps with projector and LED daytime elements, angular foglights, a familiar profile with new greenhouse shape and a completely new rear fascia with wraparound headlamps and chrome inserts.

The interior design is ages ahead of the what is seen in the current car.

The interior design is nothing like the outgoing model. The modern dashboard has a youthful appeal and is finished in dual-tone color theme with silver inserts on base and mid-variants whereas the range-topping Q trim gets wooden inserts. The MPV sports a comprehensive infotainment system, a new multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control and many more.

The new Innova is 4,735 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, 1,795 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The front suspension adopts double wishbone with coil springs setup while the rear opts for a 4-link setup with coil springs. The lower variants come shod with 205/65 R16 tyres whereas the top-end model boasts of 215/65 R17 rubber.

The next gen Toyota Innova has an heightened emphasis on safety, for it offers dual front airbags, driver knee airbags, ABS with EBD, anti-theft system and rear parking sensors as standard fitments. The Q variant adds VSC, HAC and curtain airbags. The MPV is expected to be launched in India sometime next year and will be priced significantly higher than the current model.
