Nissan’s light commercial vehicle, NV200 or better known as Evalia in India, is ready to enter the Spanish auto industry as a taxi. Nissan will produce both, NV200 and the e-NV200 at their plant in Barcelona. A few days back, Nissan unveiled their NV200 taxi fleet for Barcelona.
Nissan Evalia was first showcased at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show as a concept and was launched officially in May 2009 in Japan. Later same year, it was launched in Europe, where it won the Van of the Year award. Last year in May 2011, Nissan Evalia won the race for New York City’s Taxi for Tomorrow. This will allow Nissan to sell 13,000 Evalia’s to New York over the period of 10 years, starting 2013.
Just like other major cities around the globe, Barcelona too wants to keep their free from vehicular pollution. For this, Nissan supports Barcelona’s drive towards reducing emissions as they offer all electric e-NV200.
