The production version of the Nissan Kicks compact crossover SUV which is set to make its world premiere at the Rio Olympics next month has been teased in the form of two images. The photos reveal the front and rear fascias what is pegged as a Hyundai Creta rival.
While there are obvious references to the design concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show, it has to be said that the watered down headlamps (the concept featured edgy units) give the final production version a more conservative character. A V-Motion grille, silver roof rail and contrast copper roofline have been carried forward.
We expect the profile to be identical to that of the concept. The teaser also shows large diamond cut alloy wheel pattern but it’s not three-dimensional like in the concept.
Coming to the rear fascia, from what can be observed from the teaser image, the lower portion of the combination lights and the distinct sheet metal bulge on the tailgate are lifted straight off the concept.
The Nissan Kicks with a 1.6-litre flex-fuel engine is reported to be initially exported from Mexico into Brazil until the local facility is ready to accommodate it. Nissan Brazil earlier announced significant investment and hiring plans for the Kicks’ production.
