New Nissan Magnite launch scheduled within next 5 months; in H2 FY21

Nissan Magnite B segment UV is set for launch in H2 FY21. With this the company continues ‘to prioritize and invest in the Indian consumer’. All-new Nissan Magnite is planned to enable sustainable growth for the auto manufacturer.

With Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) tech features, the Flare Garnet Red (Tint-Coat) colour choice builds on a premium outlook. This is further accentuated with sporty IP with stylish horizontal execution, chrome DLO (daylight opening), especially crafted door seals, wide split taillamps, and tall floor console with smartphone tray.

Colour options include 9 body colours – 5 monotone and 4 dual tone. Sleek LED bi-projector headlamps with LED lightsaber-style turn indicators, L-shape LED L-shaped Daytime Running Lights (DRL), and LED fog lamps make up the light structure.

A dominating front grille adds to visual appeal. Magnite styling and features include 205 mm ground clearance, turning radius of 5.0m, roof rails with 50kg load bearing capacity, square wheel arches, front and rear silver skid plates, sculpted bodyside cladding, diamond cut alloys, and 16-inch wheels as standard.

Interiors feature a horizontal instrument panel structure double deck console, which takes into consideration storage and functionality. The info feature pack includes 7-inch TFT meter with welcome animation, tyre pressure monitoring system, and 8-inch infotainment display with full flush touchscreen, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and built-in voice recognition with 6 speakers. Driving eco function rates driving and assigns score, and provides inputs to develop driving skills.

One can toggle the menu and up/down buttons for all functions, and experience fully integrated steering wheel controls for audio, cluster and cruise control. Careful placement of microphone and speaker accounts for better phone calls. Nissan Connect includes geo fence, roadside assistance, smart watch connectivity, and more.

Fuel efficiency is listed at 20 kmpl. The HRA0 engine delivers higher torque at a lower speed than normal torque. HRA0 1.0-litre Turbo engine is available with manual 5 speed and X-TRONIC CVT gearbox, and uses mirror bore cylinder coating tech to reduce inside engine resistance for smooth acceleration and fuel efficiency. Six tech improvements result in better fuel economy, and lower CO2 emissions. HRA0 1.0-litre Turbo engine is responsive, and does enough in refining Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) based on an improved powertrain, and road noise isolation.

X-TRONIC CVT gearbox, Cruise Control and wider gear range caters to optimised performance in peak city traffic. Developed in compliance with Indian safety regulations, Magnite is built on a high strength and impact absorbing efficient body structure. Safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS) for better control on varying terrains, Hill Start Assist (HSA) stop and go in slopes and hilly terrains, speed sensing door lock, central locking, SRS dual airbag system with pretension and load limiter seatbelt for driver and passenger, and Anti-Roll bar for tight cornering at high speeds for low body roll.

Nissan Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system improves stability, and gives the driver better control, especially in poor weather conditions, in tight corners and risk situations. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) improves braking ability in case of an emergency. Launch price is expected to start from Rs 5.5 lakhs; under-cutting rivals by more than Rs 1 lakh.
