Renault updated the Duster in India earlier this year with a 6-speed Easy-R AMT and the same gearbox is now going to be offered with the Nissan Terrano.
Unlike Renault, which offers the Duster AMT with mid-trim priced from INR 11.96 lakh, Nissan is offering the Terrano only with the top-end trim. This makes the Terrano about INR 60k more expensive than the respective Duster AMT variant. Nissan Terrano AMT has been launched with the top-end 110 PS trim and is priced from INR 13.75 lakh.
Apart from the cosmetic upgrades and a new transmission, the Renault Duster facelift also received an upgraded electrical and electronics architecture and new CMO10 engine compartment for added safety. The same has been added to Nissan Terrarno’s 110 PS 1.5 liter diesel engine. Fuel efficiency claimed is 19.61 kmpl.
Nissan claims that the new Terrano comes with 14 enhancements which are spread across model variants. These include electrically folding exterior rear-view mirrors with integrated turn signals, anti-pinch driver side windows, a new driver armrest, soft touch plastics on the dashboard, and door trim.
Like the Duster AMT, the Terrano AMT will be available with the 110 PS version of the 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 6-speed AMT unit will carry forward the manual transmission’s gear ratios. The Terrano is also available with a 1.6-litre petrol engine which produces 104 PS and an entry-level 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 85 PS. Both these motors are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
