Nissan to launch Sunny sedan diesel variant in January 2012

Nissan Sunny sedan petrol which was launched earlier yesterday in Indian auto industry, might fetch Nissan Motors a good market share in the segment. In order to better their chances, Nissan Motors is now working towards launching a new variant of Sunny sedan which will be powered by a diesel engine.

The diesel Sunny sedan sports a K9K 1.5 litre DCi engine designed by Renault that generates 85 bhp and 200 Nm. It is a variant of Micra’s engine crafted for a turbo guise and a variable geometry. With its 1000 kg mass it might be a very frugal sedan with all the essential safety features that Nissan exempted from Micra Diesel.

Nissan Sunny Sedan petrol already features spacious interiors of quality levels higher than those of Toyota Etios. People trying to choose between Etios or the cramped Maruti Swift Dzire or the Tata Manza should check out the Sunny Sedan as well. The diesel variant will be priced competitively at no more than a lakh above the petrol variant. Nissan sedan petrol comes for a price of Rs 5.78 lakhs for the base variant.
