The way Furious 7 ended, many believed that it was the last movie under the Fast and Furious franchise. But, a report had emerged in November 2014, which claimed that there will be at least 3 more movies under the banner. The report has just been confirmed by Vin Diesel.
Actor and Producer Vin Diesel has said that there will be at least three more films under the Fast and Furious banner, before the series finally comes to an end (if at all it is ever going to end).
Fast and Furious is one of the highest revenue making franchise ever for Universal Studios, and considering that it has an unmatched fan following, ending the series directly implies losing revenue. For eg, the last movie under the FnF banner, Furious 7 grossed more than $1.5 billion in revenue globally, this was almost double what Fast and Furious 6 had grossed.
Till date, Fast and Furious has grossed more than $3.9 billion in revenue. And with One Last Trilogy on its way, we are sure that the revenue is only going to head north with every release.

“The fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world… Since I became the Producer in 2008, you have been with me every step of the way… literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you.
My producing partner Neal would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled. To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet… let alone seen a script.
Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision… they have been like family… I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga.
I will announce the directors on my next post…”
