Pagani Huayra at 2013 Geneva Motor Show and deal with Sonus Faber
A series of videos titled ‘Can you decipher the clues?’ shown by Pagani Automobiles last month, did pique plenty of interest. Seen initially at the start of February, the company then released a second teaser video which is also equally foxing. These videos are all about the company’s new factory, state of the art audio system and the Pagani Huayra Roadster.
The company did provide several clues which included the Italian countryside, an ancient temple and a pair of scissors which, however, failed to garner much attention and hence the company came out with a second more revealing video. Here Pagani has indicated collaboration with Sonus Faber – Italian speaker manufacturers with auto enthusiasts getting set to see some high sound action in the upcoming Huayra Roadster.
The teasers did not reveal any body, interior or engine details, though a distinct Pagani steering wheel is noticeable. Speakers from Sonus Faber are evident as the company revealed this vehicle with its highly acclaimed sound system at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Sonus Faber has created carbon cones to keep with lightweight taking inspiration from the Carbo-Titanium nature of Huayra. Use of Neodymium magnets have been used to deliver high performance and stick to weight reduction. The new Sonus Faber audio system amplifiers’ structure offers 1.200 Watt power output. This is triple the performance in Huayra ‘s standard sound system. Two Pagani Huayras are displayed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, one red, and the other blue. A Huayra weighs 2,976 lbs, and has 4 adjustable flaps that are smart. Powered by an AMG-sourced 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, you’re looking at 730 hp and 738 lbft of torque. It goes from 0-60 in 3.3 seconds with top speed at 230 mph.
In reference to the partnership between Sonus Faber and Pagani, Horacio Pagani, chief designer and CEO of Pagani Automobili had this to say, “We are glad for this important partnership and, to use an audiophile term, the harmony between the two brands could not be better. Sonus faber creates musical pieces of art for a very exclusive market of sophisticated customers. The technology, craftsmanship and attention to details is what made us very happy to see their interpretation of a high-end sound system for our Huayra. We hope our customers will be as surprised as we were when we first experienced the depth and richness of this audio system.”
Mauro Grange, CEO of Sonus faber had this to say, “It is an honor to work with Pagani, as the Huayra stands for timeless design and performance, values that Sonus faber has always cherished when designing its speakers. Our engineers have faced the demanding and special requirements of an automotive application with a no-compromise attitude and we are pleased to have contributed with a state-of-the-art sound system for an automotive icon.”
