Maserati Levante, Ghibli, Quattroporte petrol V6 – Price from Rs 1.31 cr

With Indian consumers slowly shifting back to petrol, Italian car manufacturer, Maserati has now brought in a V6 petrol motor in India for the first time! The petrol engine will be available in 3 of its models, namely the Levante, Quattroporte and Ghibli.

The new petrol motor is actually a twin-turbo unit and will be available in two states of tunes, 350 hp and 430 hp. As far as the transmission is concerned, the 3 litre petrol guzzler will come mated to an 8-speed automatic from ZF as standard.

The standard trims will be getting the Ferrari-sourced motor in its 350hp avatar where it will be dishing out 500 Nm of max torque. The ‘S’ trims will however get the same motor in the 430hp configuration where it will deliver 580 Nm of peak torque.

Maserati petrol engines

With the new engine, both the sedans and the SUV will get a new redesigned gearshift lever as well, which is was earlier available in the diesel variants. This new lever provides a more intuitive shift pattern, improved operation and shorter travel. As far as the new motor is concerned, it uses advanced valve control mechanism, twin turbos and direct injection technology.

All the 3 vehicles get Maserati’s MTC+ infotainment system, which includes a high resolution 8.4 inch touchscreen unit and uses a double rotary knob for additional controls. The system too has been updated with newer graphics and an improved climate control setup.

Talking about the updates in Maserati’s lineup, Mr. Bojan Jankulovski, Head of Operations, Maserati India said, “With the introduction of the V6 petrol versions of Levante, Ghibli and Quattroporte, we follow through, yet again, on our commitment to satisfy the significantly increasing demand for petrol cars in India. Maserati is offering the Quattroporte in 10 different colour options while the Ghibli and Levante are available in 11 different paint options. Additionally, customers get two more tri-coat colours, Blu Nobile and Rosso Potente. To further personalize their cars, customers can choose 20-21 inch alloys from a wide set of design options which are available across the range.

With the updates, pricing for Levante’s petrol range starts at INR 1.41 crores (ex-showroom) while Ghibli’s petrol variant’s starting price stands at INR 1.31 crores. The Quattroporte petrol works out to be relatively the most expensive of the lot with prices starting at INR 1.63 crores (ex-showroom).
