The Delhi Auto Show is held every two years. This year the event is being co-hosted by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, Confederation of Indian Industry & Automotive Component Manufacturers Association. It is currently underway at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi where it has opened its doors two days prior for special invitees and guests.
Among the host of national and international auto manufacturers, Peugeot will be offering a stylish looking sedan at the show. Peugeot 508 D Sedan can be seen at the Peugeot pavilion. These two offerings, coming from the French carmakers stables will compete with Accord and Superb. 508 sedan which has been seen on test along with 207 hatchback along the Mumbai-Pune expressway has modern styling coupled with rich features and superb drive quality.
Auto enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting company announcements regarding price and date of launch in India. Peugeot is also showing RCZ sports coupe to the Delhi Auto Show. This sports car will be specially targeted for up market customers and is surely adding some glitz at the Peugeot exhibition area.
Talking about their plans for India, Mr Frederic Fabre, MD, PCA Motors India, said, “We will start with CBUs and then follow it up with 508. We will then go to different segments, starting from C-segment (sedan) and then later B-segment.”
Mr Thierry Poirat, VP, Peugeot India, said, “Till 2014, we will be setting up our sales network. The initial plan is to tap the top 15 cities. Quality of service and network expansion is top priority before launching more models. We are an expert on diesel engines, so we have some ideas. We will start with premium cars to set up the brand. Smaller cars will come after that.”
