Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL) of Italian Piaggio Group has officially launched Porter 700 expanding its initiative in the last mile transportation category. Porter 700, with a payload capacity of 700 kgs, a cargo deck of 30 sq ft, high standards in design and best in class mileage is priced at INR 3.40 lakhs. It comes in with an new design which is adapted for Indian conditions and planned on the basis of Piaggio’s ongoing customer feedback program.
Porter 700 is an upgraded version of the Porter 600 that has been on sale for the past few years. It comes in a dynamic design. It is a capable pick-up with efficient acceleration and highest ground clearance in its class at 218mm.
In terms of dimensions, the Porter 700 measures 3,544mm in length, 1,460mm in width, 1738mm in height and sits on a wheelbase measuring 1,820mm. The cargo deck is 1,950mm in length and 1,400mm wide with 30 sq ft loading area. The pick-up is able to tackle city roads and highways while taking gradients with ease as it offers superior grade ability at (21%). Porter 700 comes in with a BS IV compliant 652 cc single cylinder engine that generates 14.75 hp peak power and 40 Nm peak torque. Fuel efficiency is at 26 kmpl.
Boasting of an Italian styling, Porter 700 gets twin headlamps which not only add to its looks but also ensures safer night time driving. It also gets 5 speed floor mounted Synchromesh gear box.
Offered with 2 years/70,000 kms extended warranty, Porter 700 competes with other established models in its class among which is the Tata Ace and Mahindra Jeeto. It is produced at the company plant in Baramati, Maharashtra and will be seen at the company’s 350+ dealerships across India by next week.
