Porsche 911 GT3 RS makes India debut ahead of impending launch

Agility, luxury and cutting edge technology spells the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Porsche 911 GT3 RS race car has been unveiled at the Porsche Center in Bengaluru. Primarily a race car for the circuit but also ideally suited for everyday driving, Porsche 911 GT3 RS is set to cause a stir with its state of the art luxury, outstanding motorsport capabilities.

This high-performance sports car arrives in India powered with a 4 liter, 6 cylinder engine, offering 500 hp power and 480 Nm torque combined with a PDK transmission.

This engine promises acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.3 seconds, going to 200 kmph in 10.9 seconds. Fuel consumption stands at 12.7 liters per 100 kms (7.87 kmpl). Engine on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS possesses the largest displacement in a Porsche yet, and it is the most powerful as compared to any naturally aspirated engine with direct fuel injection in the 911 family. It commands a lap time of 7 minutes and 20 seconds beating the Carrera GT super sports car on North Loop of Nurburgring by 9 seconds.

Lighter in weight by around 10 kgs as compared to the 911 GT3, the RS trim receives 30 cm wide recess made of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic extending over its magnesium roof, while carbon fiber is used in engine and luggage compartment lids along with other lightweight components contributing to its lower weight.

Center of gravity is enhanced due to light weight roof while extended front spoiler lip and larger rear wing ensure better aerodynamics. Wheel arch air vents extend into the upper section of wings increasing down force at the front axle. Porsche 911 GT3 RS race car receives widest tyres as compared to any 911 model ensuring more agility and higher cornering speed.
