Porsche unveiled the newest version of its iconic sports car – The Porsche 911R – at the last year’s Geneva Motor Show. The Porsche 911R will be a limited edition production of 911 cars, which entered production in Zuffenhausen, Germany, in May 2016. Now, Bhoopesh Reddy from Bangalore, is the first owner of this ultra exclusive car in India.
The 911R is breaking the tradition and coming out with a six-speed manual transmission. Apart from that, 911R is also void of the rear seats, which is in line with the intent of producing a car, which is the lightest 911 as of yet and hence giving it as good a feeling of a motorsport car as ever.
Apart from the rear seats, host of other cosmetic features are missing which would have added to the bodyweight including the Air-conditioner and the Radio. Obviously, these can be installed if required.
The 911R is 110 pound lighter than the next lightest 911 variant, weighing in at 3,020 pounds. The engine of the 911R is a 4.0 liter flat six delivering a whopping 493HP at 8,250 rpm and 458 Nm torque. The car can sprint from 0-100 Kmph in just 3.8 secs with a top-speed of 323 Kmph.
Porsche 911R is a rear-drive sports machine, which features 16.1-inch carbon-ceramic disc brakes at the front and 15.4-inch carbon-ceramic discs at the rear. Its price in the US starts from $185,950. It is not clear how much Mr Reddy paid for the car in India. It is expected to be about INR 4 crore range.
