Porsche breaks ground for their $100 million HQ with 1.6 mile test track in the US

A new state of the art Porsche headquarters is in the making in the US. Porche conducted its official ground breaking ceremony at its new site, which is located close to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This new building, once completed will house a museum, conference centre, technical service and training centre and a 1.6 mile test track and handling course.

Employment opportunities will be aplenty with over 400 workers being employed while additional jobs will also be created. Construction at this new facility is expected to be completed by mid 2014. Once ready, the new Porsche HQ in US will be known as One Porsche Drive where most of Porsche North American operations will be conducted.

As the facility contains a 1.6 mile test track, Porsche will be able to offer customers test drives along this track helping customers get a feel of the car like never before. Dealers can reserve the entire track for a day and bring a group of customers to test drive new vehicles thus bringing in a unique experience for customers and dealers. Porsche expects about 20,000 visitors annually to their centre and test track, while a large percentage of these will be arranged through dealer networks.
