Pulsar 200NS price starts at Rs 94,280 (On Road Pune): Bookings open while deliveries begin by 10th June (Photos & Video), Update: Delhi Price Rs 94,300

The latest edition of the 10 year old Pulsar series, 200NS is now available with a price tag of Rs 94,280 (OTR Pune) and comes with an ex-showrom price of Rs 87,514. Bookings have commenced at Bajaj Probiking dealers. By depositing an amount of Rs 10,000 via cash, cheque or Demand Draft you can confirm the booking of new Pulsar 200 NS. Deliveries are expected to begin by the 10th of this month whereas test rides are set to begin this week itself.

According to Satbir Rajpal, one of the many who have already booked Pulsar 200 NS, said, “Testing has come to end. First slot to be dispatched on 4th June from factory. So delivery to start before 10th. I have already booked the bike.”

Pulsar 200 NS features all new triple spark technology. According to Bajaj, “Three spark plugs provide unprecedented performance and efficiency – Fast and optimal combustion at part load conditions results in better fuel efficiency and ensures lower emissions. The high performance triple spark engine controlled by an advanced Electronic Control Unit, is the technology of the future.”

New Bajaj Pulsar features a 199.5 cc engine with 4 valves that generates 23 bp @ 9,500 rpm and peak torque of 18.3 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Top speed is pegged at 136 kmph, which makes the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS amongst the fastest Indian two wheelers by Bajaj. Acceleration too is the best yet in a Pulsar – 0-60 kmph in 3.61 seconds while 0-100 kmph is achieved in 9.8 seconds.

Apart from the price, another USP of the new Pulsar sportsbike is its efficiency. Bajaj claims that thanks to their new ground-breaking technology, Pulsar 200NS will deliver a mileage of 58 kmph, when driven at a constant speed of 55 kmph.

Pulsar 200 NS comes with disc brakes on the front and rear wheel. Ground clearance is marked at 167 mm, and the bike has a kerb weight at 145 kgs. There’s a 12 liter fuel tank, and the bike runs on 10 spoke 17 inch alloy wheels. You’ll spot the telescopic fork affront and Nitrox mono-shock suspension at the rear. Dry weight for the new Pulsar 200 NS is 145 kgs. Bike enthusiasts can look forward to Bajaj introducing a bigger engine Pulsar soon as the company is working on a 350cc engine Pulsar two wheeler that they would start selling in 2013.

Speaking more on the technology of Pulsar 200 NS, Bajaj says, “The 4-valve engine facilitates induction of more quantity of charge (air-fuel mixture) and complete evacuation of all burnt gases. This results in increased engine performance – power, throttle response and pick-up at all engine speeds. 4-valve engines can be revved to much higher RPMs, without any engine strain, allowing the rider to experience superior performance.”

“The high performance Pulsar 200NS engine is kept cooled using liquid coolant, which is better at heat dispension as compared to an air cooled engine. Liquid cooling ensures there is no power fading due to overheating and results in longer engine life and the coolant provides for a muffling effect which smoothens engine noises even at high RPMs. The smooth shifting 6-speed gearbox is perfectly mated to the powerful 4 valve, triple spark, 200cc engine ensuring optimal use of the wider range of power delivery.”

As of now, Bajaj is working on a Pulsar 200 SS (Super Sport) variant which will be priced around Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 more than the 200 NS (Naked Sport) variant. The only difference between Pulsar 200 NS and Pulsar 200 SS will be in the front look. Pulsar 200 SS will sport a full front fairing. The image above is an artist’s impression of the Pulsar 200 SS.
